Injector Failures - Possible recall

Hi, just reading up on the progress of this...

Mine has not come up with any faults yet, but is it worth me ringing up and getting it checked? Does it cost anything if no faults are found?

It's a 170 Sport 2008 BMR engine.. do these have faults?

Ok got case number... Have been asked to book car in at local dealer.

Both Customer services and dealer knew of the issue and agreed it is a serious safety concern.

Customer services have asked that the dealer check the car before deciding on the appropriate action to remediate the situation. Dealer also suggested I have a courtesy cars for atleast 2 days so the matter can be sorted out...

So car is going in on Tuesday and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I just spoke to someone at VW Customer services, he said that if there is nothing wrong with the car then thats ok.. or you can book it in with dealers...

I thought they knew about the fault?

I would suggest doing what I did and contact Vosa.They will contact VW then VW will contact you.

As mentioned above read my replies and do the same as me. I had no failures either. Just worried about safety and my car cutting out at high speed.

I think the Bmr is 170 with dpf fitted. Either way its a pd unit not a CR. Bkp is the 140

Ok just spoketo VW Customer Services again, this time a different gentleman who was very helpful i might add, he took the vehicle details and said that my car fits the criteria, so the gentleman had a word with the colleague who is incharge of the injector case/scenario and came back and said that the 2008 170 model have the uprated injectors fitted, but it would be a good idea to book it in with the dealers and get them to double check, i may have to pay for the check, but if they are not the new uprated injectors then the injectors and loom would be changed at their cost..

so am going to contact dealers and see what they say..

anyone knows if the 2008 model has the uprated injectors fitted?
