Hello. I am new to this forum and sorry for my english, i will try to describe my problem. Here is the problem, we were traveling from Lithuania to Norway and near ferry our audi has started to shake when I press the accellerator pedal a bit more, when I reached 80km/h the motor was shaking a little little bit only, but then I press accellerator pedal more, the whole car was shaking. The thrust of the car was low and we continued to drive. I drove for about 500-600 kms and then motor started to "knock", I checked the oil level and had to refill 2.5L of 10w40 oil. The "knocking" sound dissapeared but the engine with the whole car was shaking even on idle. There was oil from EGR valve all over exaust. I checked the turbo "axle" or what it called, it has longitudinal looseness for about 2 maybe 3mm, to the right left up and down its okay, no looseness. Then I removed each of the spark plugs and in the cilinder 3 the spark plug was oily, I double checked it with new one and still, there is oil in cilinder 3. I removed all the air hoses around the motor and there was a bit of oil there, in the intercooler there are not many oil. I removed the EGR, cleared the oil out of it and put everything back together. Any ideas what happened? I cannot afford to take it to the service or garaze. I have to do this on my own. Any ideas? Heres the video (those noises are from wind, not from motor).

Have you checked the engine mounts and the torque stop on the engine? What clutch is fitted DMF or single? You don't have any spark plugs 2.5 l is a large amount of oil for a top uo. There seems to be some blow pass from the crankcase is the pipe blocked?

Looking like a failed turbo. With that oil from Exhaust flexi and the excess smoke from the exhaust. Dont run the engine till its confirmed.

Yes, I checked the engine mounts. What is "torque stop"? The cluch is DMF. It is just "plugs". " blow pass from the crankcase is the pipe blocked" - Sorry did not understand this. :/ What pipe?

"Looking like a failed turbo. With that oil from Exhaust flexi and the excess smoke from the exhaust. Dont run the engine till its confirmed." - I have ran the motor for an hour atleast. You say the turbo, but why the motor rans like with only 3 cilinders working?

    Sorry for my english!

If she's oiling No3 cylinder you could have very serious problems with your engine. There is a plastic disc on the camshaft cover with a pipe leading to the crankcase. There does seem excessive blowpass perhaps you have a stuck valve?

Bits of it sounded like the camshaft was badly worn, or that the hydraulic tappets were empty.

Okay, another possibility, number 3 injector has a faulty spray pattern. Oil is washed off cylinder bore by diesel, causes piston to pick up on the bore. Burns oil and knocks. Only a suggestion !

Sounds like you filled a lot of oil, maybe too much?
Once I filled too much oil on my old Golf mk1, and the same symptomes appeared.
From what I remember I think it was the engine top gasket that leaked, making the oil come into the cylinder and causing faiilure on one of the spark plugs, causing the engine to run only on three sylinders.
To change the gasket is a lot of work, and remember you have to get new main bolts = stretch bolts and tighten them to the right moment-force (torque?). And of course drain the oil to the right level.
Maybe this happened to your Audi as well, but I don't know...
    Good luck!
