Passat 2L TDI Turbo Whine

I have a Passat B6 170 bhp and everytime I accelerate I get a whining noise from my wife.

I went to the solicitors and he said it would cost over £50,000 to replace so I think I'll just wait for it to break down and part-ex it for a slightly newer model.

can i ask why you went to a solicitors and not a garage, im sure a new turbo from a garage would be alot less than £50.000 to replace

ahh right, fair enough, sorry it read like you asked the solicitor if your turbo was gone, i take it you went to see if you could claim for damages if and when your turbo goes bang?
