Are you putting them beside your VW front badge? It will look tacky as hell. I'd advise putting them in the fog grills if you have to put them anywhere. Also DRL's are designed to be on with nothing else, so I personally wouldn't wire them into your sidelights, but if you have to, tap into the headlight connector, strip back the black tape and you will see a grey and red wire, that's the sidelight wire. Personally I'd go for ignition live so they are on independently then you could get fruity and introduce a NC Relay so they go off when your sidelights are on. Looks OEM this way. But that's just me, I have my fogs as DRL's as I didnt want boy racer fairy lights in my grill! Let us know what you choose and how you get on, and pics, and rememberveach to their own

Google NC Relays and how they work, it's a bit complicated to explain. There is an ignition live running to the headlight, I can't remember what colour it is but if you use a multimeter you will find it, I THINK it's pin1. Tap into that with a scotch block and bobs your uncle you have 12v at the front bumper, ground it on a piece of bodywork with the 10mm bolts.
