I obviously can't comment on your opinion of VW Bristol but, strictly speaking, they're right - there is no 'recall' as such...unfortunately. Otherwise I'd screw VW France with it. The official line here is that there is no recall, as they don't see any point in taking preventative action by replacing parts that are working ok at the moment. Worse, you can't even get them changed as is the case now in the UK. Reading between the lines, they might reimburse anyone having a failure, but they're playing it close to their chest, as was the case in the UK to start with.

There are a lot of very unhappy owners here.

Zeb, e.mail John Fitch @ VOSA, nobody is paying for them, they are obliged to replace free as long as you get a case number first.

Yup as mentioned above, you should not pay a penny. Call VW customer service, tell them you heard there was a recall and you want to know what's going on. Hopefully they will correct you and give you a reference number to take to your dealer.

Just to let you know that today I have a refund from VW CS (UK) for the €1,100 that I forked out whilst on holiday in France.

Paid out as "a Goodwill gesture in full & final settlement..." & I am v happy!

In all honesty, the French "Pompe Injecteur" is I think the FIP seeing as VW here replaced all 4 injectors & the loom so the French could not have replaced an Injector otherwise the Dealer would have only replaced 3? So not only do I have 4 new injectors & loom but also a new FIP & all free from VW!!!

Bad news is that my Passat is now up for sale but the good news is that I'm after another VW - a Touraeg so I'll still be around!

They are the same ones as were being fitted before which are exchange items and more than likely reconditioned old units. As I think I have previously said, I have already experienced failure of a replacement injector.

Perhaps that's why VW are being so 'generous' with their replacement programme.

The French for these failing injectors is 'injecteur pompe', so I'm guessing that you've just got 4 new injectors. No problem though if you're selling!

You're kidding?! So we're all getting these 'new' injectors yet they are just as bad??

Are they replacing Siemens to Bosch then? And I assume they are second hand Bosch injectors that are taken from scrapped vehicles and reconditioned?

Was there much point in all my headaches?!?!
