Fat controller, I suggest you call them asap. Also get your receipt ready for a refund on the failure you have already had.

As mentioned in numerous threads mine has had no failures. Now I have 4 new injectors plus loom. It feels a lot better to drive and far smoother than before

Hi, just reading up on the progress of this...

Mine has not come up with any faults yet, but is it worth me ringing up and getting it checked? Does it cost anything if no faults are found?

It's a 170 Sport 2008 BMR engine.. do these have faults?

Ok got case number... Have been asked to book car in at local dealer.

Both Customer services and dealer knew of the issue and agreed it is a serious safety concern.

Customer services have asked that the dealer check the car before deciding on the appropriate action to remediate the situation. Dealer also suggested I have a courtesy cars for atleast 2 days so the matter can be sorted out...

So car is going in on Tuesday and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Called them about an hour ago, spoke to a very helpful chap who has started a case for me, and says that the customer service manager will be in touch in the next 24-48hrs. Meantime, I am to book the car in with my local dealer, tell them that Customer Services are aware of the problem, and show them my V5 - they will then assess what is needed, and replace as many injectors as needed FOC; he also advised that I try and find the receipt for the injector that failed last year, and they would sort a refund

So far, so good - well done VW!!

I do wonder if there might have been a deal of 'persuasion' on behalf of VOSA though (change them all voluntarily and we will avoid the embarrassment of a recall?)

Called VW in Miton Keynes. Seemed very vague and lots of 'IF it's a recognised fault'.
Given a ref and told to phone local dealer who booked it in for next week and said They'll charge £90 to inspect and only refund once again 'IF it's a recognised fault'.

Not quite as easy as some peoples experience.
