will give it a go. only just realized my car had the injectors probs.

bought it last april its a 2007 170 sport had 93k miles on it when i got it. because of this thread i decided to do a bit of phoning around to follow up on the service history. its got 101k on it now.

its got fvwsh and on july 07 number 1 injector was replaced at 83k one month later and at 86k guess what number 3 injector was replaced. so will get in touch with vosa see if they can get VW to replace them all or at least the two that havent gone (as yet!!). will post again if i get a result.

Just out of interest, does anyone know if the dreaded injector problem also affects the 140 and 170 CR engines or is it a completely different part?

Hi Teflon,

You are fine. It only effects the PD units . CR units are not the same.

my question is has anybody who hasnt got full vw service history had a result yet as i have noticed that the majority that have enjoyed a result from vw have all had full vw service history let us know people atb reddevil

I received my letter from VOSA yesterday. Awaiting a call from VW customer service to get it looked at.

Hi chaps, sent off my report last night, I had two failures in 5 weeks and had a phone call from VOSA this morning advising me to call VW head office. He said they would look at car and replace remaining injectors with new modified ones and reimburse my near £1400 paid out to independant (anybody in Leeds needs a good vw audi man AVM 01132433342) he's the original garage under viaduct but knows his stuff. Anyway I digress, VW said they'd be in touch in the next few days so fingers crossed

Me again chaps, VOSA phoned me yesterday with VW's number which I phoned gave my details, said they'd be in touch, they phoned me back this afternoon saying my car was being booked into Leeds VW centre and to send copies of receipts for the two injectors, I asked when did they start with modified injectors that mine may still be the old type as it was last year when it happened, said they would check the new ones and if they weren't modified they would also be replaced, so possible all four injectors and my money back and I would call that a result!
