Colour is a very personal thing but I can vouch for the Quartz Grey being very easy to keep clean, I've had mine a year now and its easily the best colour of car I've ever had in that respect. I love the look too.

Don't get hung up on 19" wheels, 18" wheels with the optional 30mm drop lowers the car and (in my opinion) looks the mutts nuts without the expense of the bigger tyres.

Have fun choosing and enjoy your car whatever you select!
A4 Avant Executive S line 2.0 Tdi (170PS), Quartz Grey, 18" 5 spoke alloys, 30mm drop, towbar, privacy glass, storage/lighting pack, DAB, folding mirrors, de-badged

It is a personal thing choosing the colour...

Red looks stunning on the A4 estate. One of my neighbours has one and it looks great. It always surprises me how good the A4 looks in red but how dull a red 3 series BMW looks in comparison

True it's probably a higher maintenance colour - I find this with my red A3 but it's worth it as the Audi red looks quite special

IMHO, the B8 A4s look best in lighter colours.

The Avant manages to look cool in almost every shade though....

My personal thoughts (my excuse is I'm colour blind!)

Monza - really nice but often looks just like "another" silver
White - looks good but I couldn't run a white car and doesn't float my boat
    Aruba - see below
Quartz - I really like quartz ... in the right light
Lava - bling on sunny days and dark/black on dull days. It's a nice black ... if you're after black. I swore years ago never to have another black car as in summer it really gets a lot hotter, it shows all the flies etc and in winter you simply can't keep it clean.

So Aruba - the sun and light conditions don't affect it too much. I too had a meteor coloured car and that changed massively.

Aruba's great although if does seem to be getting more popular so best you choose something else
MY2010 A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI quattro S-line Exec - Aruba Blue, 19" alloys, Full Leather, B & O, 3G Tech Pack, Adaptive Lights, Dynamic Susp, Folding Mirrors, Power tailgate, Storage/Light Packs, Parking Plus, Heated Seats, Rear Blinds, Load Rails, Privacy Glass, Rear Airbags, TPMS, Load Liner

    Gone : 09 A4 Avant, B6 S4, TT, Golf GTi...and the rest are embarassing!

    Evening All.

Thank you all for your comments and pictures.
    Special mentions to

Pitch- How do you get a shine like that ???....... Do you spend every spare moment cleaning the B8 to get some peace and quiet from Mrs Pitch

Big Bird- Red is now definately on the list.

Scotty - I will maintain Aruba as an option.

Dan172 - I do not do white, purely for cleaning reasons, but if I did I would have one to a similar spec to yours.

In the mean time I'm going to keep the Meteor Grey Saloon. I had tries to see if there were any TDi S line SE Q due into the country before the VAT hike but alas, I waited to long

Lava for you Ham....its just a great colour and drying off with Clearkote quickshine brings out the sparkly flecks.

    Agree, agree, agree.

I have a pic of mine somewhere with the dust covered wheels and against the grey they either look bright when clean or anthracite, never really dirty.
