I was intrigued to hear you quite rightly villify a motor cyclist for travelling 170mph on a dual carriageway and in the same paragraph then proudly announce that you have collected 15 points which others have stupidly taken for you.
How does that make you any different from the motorcyclist?

There are loads of drivers like you on the road who thumb their nose to speed limits or other road restrictions.
Don't misunderstand me, I like to drive quickly too, but I do it on a track where it's relatively safe.
You give the impression that you have got one over the system.
The fact that you have accrued so many points for which you have escaped censure confirms you do not intend to modify your driving at all.
Consider this then for one moment, you drive along a road either too fast or perhaps commit some other sort of offence, something unexpected happens, a blow out, suspension failure, steering failure. You lose control and hit another car head on.
That car contains a couple with two children, now all dead.
An innocent family out for a day trip now dead.
You stated your relatives have fifteen points but your licence is clean...but what about your conscience?
it's time you grew up my friend

I never break the speed limit in built up areas or single carraigeway roads, just on a motorway, when it is safe and quiet, which is not very often....

My job sometimes involves me driving very late at night. On a clear dry night, I might go up to 90, when there is no other traffic about.

If I come upon traffic, I will slow down and pass with caution as some people just do not check there mirrors.

I am not one of these people who cut in and out of lanes and tailgate on the motorway or who overtake in and out of cars on a single carraigeway road.

The points were all incurred on a motorway when a little man in his van was sitting on a bridge. The maximum speed that I was clocked for was 76MPH at all time.

I know it is not big or clever to do what I did, but I did and I am not proud of it. It was over four years ago in a period of 9 months and I have not been caught since.

I travel over 40K a year and have seen lots of accidents, most of them not caused by speed, but careless and dangerous driving (tailgating, Mobile phone, changing lanes without checking mirror, lorry drivers).

I believe myself to be an experienced driver who will always give 100% concentration to the road ahead. I always turn my phone off when I get in the car even though I have a proper hands free kit installed.

    Nuff said....

From what I've just read it seems you aren't the boy racer you appeared and perhaps I did make some assumptions and for that I apologise.
It's clear that you aren't what you first appeared and you've had the bottle to admit such on this site.
    No offence intended

Funkchicken, What Gazza said. What you say makes some good sense, can't help but hate Scamera schemes. Still think it is a little wrong to pass on points to relatives and friends. I mean it was not like 3 for granny, 3 for MIL 3 for me etc, you got none

It does amaze me how many soap-boxers there are in this thread. I'd bet good money that every single one has broken the speed limit in their lifetime.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning it, but where there is a fine + points, there will be someone eager to avoid them. I've been there, and fairly sure it's crossed the minds of every poster in this thread.

stuff happens. It's how you deal with it.
