Extended Warranty

Hi,

Just new to this forum and got meself a 1.4TSI 122 DSG SE 10 plate with only 6K miles!!! full vw service history...but my question is that i have been reading but the problems with the DSG box and can any one answer or have experience using extended warranty companies as i was thinking to take out an extended warranty especially for the DSG?

Normally extended warranties are ok as long as you have the relevant oil changes etc.

Use VW's own extended warranty - aftermarket ones wont have the same amount of cover and will try anything to get out of a claim.

believe me, ive had first hand experience with warrantywise and i was disgusted.

i use the AA breakdown repair cover on my daughters car and have used the several times on previous cars. cost's about £65 per year, but go through quidco and get bigger discounts.
it covers up to five £500 claims per year,it takes the sting out of major repairs and covers most. take a look at their site for details,
ive have - starter motors, power steering pump, fuel pump, battery,speed sensors and even a leaking o ring on the cooling system.
never had a claim refused

Hi, thanks for the info, think i might look into the AA extended warranty or the VW extended warranties.

me and my big mouth,
went to the daughters car yesterday to find a big pool of oil under it,
lucky its cover by the AA
So called them out, said it was the sump.
took it to the garage today £165 for sump, gasket , filter, oil

rang the AA warranty , got authorization, only £35 to pay.

every little helps..
