I can join the list of happy people - called VW customer services on Monday; today Breeze VW in Poole fitted 4 new injectors and loom. No difference in how the car runs, but a huge amount of "peace of mind" - because it is my wifes car.

    Well done VW.

55 plate BKP engine with just over 70,000mls on the clock.

May be a coincidence after having my injectors changed, but for the first time in 3 years my DPF light came on. Followed the recommended driving style to burn off the soot, and light was out within 5 mins. Hopefully that's the end of the matter.

Exactly the same happened to me today! What was really weird is that I daily do a 15 minute motorway journey so it should always burn off???

Anyway, yes 10 mins at 80 mph in 5th (6th did not do it?) and all is well!

    Weird!

Not a coincidence on the 170PD. They all have DPF as standard and it was an optional extra for the 140, which not many people took.

So what does DPF give in terms of advantages - lower road tax?
