im in a bit of bother and need some help. my turbo sounds awful and car has a drop in power. i need a new one but im told that it can be one of 3 turbos by my nearest dealer. there are 3 turbos with different garet numbers. im basically after a company that can take my turbo off and replace with a reconditioned turbo. but id consider an upgrade which i have no knowledge of. what companys could any one reccommend. i live in north east lincolnshire so i would prefere it somewhere not too far. what upgrades are available.
any help would be fantastic as its really annoying and i dont want to sell it as i love the car and i want to tart it up and make it a little quicker.

I think the the vnt20's (vnt turbo from 2.5 TDI) have the same rectangular manifold connector as your 'vnt17 vb'.

You would need to increase the fueling and remap to attain the best level of power, but could make 250bhp+ with ease.

You may see a tiny bit more lag, and a shift of the power up the rev range.
