We've not seen a single flic for the last fortnight, what is annoying though is the preponderance of 30kph zones all backed up by 'passages surlevee.'.
Speed humps with the height of a bus! Oh, and I hope the weathers better there than here.

Just got back from the Dordogne and Sarlat myself, loved it. But, car (***, audi on order) vibrated all the way there and back! Mine was due to hitting a huge pothole on the M1 near Loughborough half an hour after leaving home, very annoying.

Easy to cover the miles without worrying about the gendarmes, speed limit is 80 anyway, and assuming a few mph out on speedo, then anywhere from 85-90 on the clock should be fine.

You mean the “automated” sweary word detector as opposed to the moderators’ right?

Yes, too quick to be anything other than automated, but obviously has a few other words in there as well that are deemed unacceptable.

From Calais to Bailly-Romanvillers and then B-R to Le Bugue I never saw one Gendarme. It's been the same most years.

The weather here is poor. Cloud, rain and cool temps. This is our 4th year in this area and likely to be our last. The area is superb but the weather too unreliable. Year 1 (2011) was dire with monsoon rains and low temp. Year 2 was better with more sun and higher temps. Year 3 was superb with little rain and high temps. This year is like year 1 again.

The biggest issue is the evenings. The temp drops and people are walking around in jackets or fleeces!

Down here (Herault), we have had the worst hailstorm for years, destroyed the entire fruit crop. Rained everyday and when the wind comes off the Med we've had the most spectacular lightning storms. Wind banging the shutters as I write. Still, forecast to improve at the weekend.

If it's any consolation it is a lovely day here with temps forecast to be in the low to mid 20s - albeit a little breezy.
Of course it's gonna turn like a cornered rat at the weekend when we're all not at work and could take advantage of it

Bash - any update on the vibration?

Not yet. Car hasn't moved since I had the work done yesterday. May get a chance to test tomorrow.

Never had an opportunity to really see if it had gone until today. Just did 400 miles up to Paris and it felt much better although there is still something not right. At times the suspension seems noisy and there is still a gruffness when accelerating. Need to get the car back to normal I.e. no bike rack on the back and much lighter, to really check it out.
