    Hi all,

    Owned the car just under a week now, and every now and then (mostly when car is hot and been running a while) I get a vibration in the car, almost like it's miss-firing. The whole car seems to shake a little bit - if I rev the vibration goes away but kicks back in once at idle speeds.

    Any ideas please?

    Have found the following on a different forum - and it seems to be that the timing could be out slightly;

    car wobbles on idle TDI(possible injector problem!?)

    Anyone had this issue resolved by this?

    I often see the 130PD engines incorrectly timed after a Tipex and pray cam belt change.

    Thanks Crasher, will look into this further as it seems it is most likely this issue.
    Just lucky it's not my Fiesta where it was missing and had endless issues with injector seals...

    hi,dunno if it is the same problem but my a4 1.9 tdi quattro had a vibration at idle. quite annoying in traffic. had the cambelt done. no difference. then someone suggested gearbox mount. since the car is old with no record of clutch change i decided to get a new clutch with a new dmf (Luk) fitted first b4 i got a mount. just got it back yesterday the car is a complete different beast. i just fell in love with her again. no vibrations and unbalanced handling.

    Thanks for the info. My clutch is slipping anyway so looking at getting this and the DMF replaced at some point. Just a question though, if I push the clutch in and it still vibrates does that not point to something other than clutch/DMF as it'll be disengaged?

    The (DMF) flywheel is permanently attached to the engine - depressing the clutch pedal separates the friction plate of the clutch from the flywheel.
