Injector Failures - Possible recall

The first time I called VW CS, I got someone who didn't know about the problem and basically told me to clear off. I called back on the same number the following day and got a lady who did know about it and gave me a case number. 4 days later I had new injectors and loom and didn't pay a penny.

Phoned customer services after speaking to someone that couldnt of cared less, and they phoned the dealer to organise a day to get the car in to check the injectors. I asked customer services if I will get charged for this and got told no. No mention of case number tho, so we shall see...

I rang their customer service up today, they told me that I need to speak to my dealer about this and not us???

Which is now P'ing me off!

Result !! My car packed in on Tuesday, but did not display "Engine Fault - Garage" Just stopped dead at a Tee juncution (Imagine if I was just pulling out) Got it recovered to VW Warrington. Waited a day or so, they phoned me this morning to tell me that 2 injectors had gone (already had 2 replaced) I then asked for the bad news on the cost and was told by the Service Manager that there was no cost as VW have now recognised it, not as a recall but as situation where by VW will stump up the full cost if you have a failure...............Still think it should be a recall due to the dangerous situation that could arise when they fail.......................It's a start though !!

I bought a used 2008 VW Passat a few weeks ago. It already had a problem out of the garage, DGS gearbox needs a new machrotronics(sp?) unit. Something that should have been recalled in this country! (It was in the US). Anyway i am getting it fixed for free so thank god for that. Sending it in to get fixed next Wednesday.

Anyway on this issue, is it something they will replace even if there is no problem? Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my car other then this DSG issue but if this is close to a proper recall then what are the chances they will replace them for free? Will look into this after i get my car back. Think this is my first post as well!

Hiya thanks for getting back to me my car got a avz or azv engine code will it qualify or is it only certain engines codes that are been on a recall because the injectors failure .thank you

Booked in for Tuesday to see if my injectors are affected.

2007 170 TDI so I should think so!

Just need them to refund the French "Pompe Injecteur" I had fitted & then I'll be a v happy bunny!

I just rang VW and spoke with a very very non committal lady who gave the impression I was the first to ring about this!!. She then put me onto another lady, Hazel who was excellent. ( might have been my flirting!!). Car is booked in for monday for a check over and if required the injectors will be replaced FOC. Fingers crossed!!

I'd be grateful if you let me know how you get on with the French bit, in view of my ongoing battle with VW France to get mine sorted out.
