Mobil 1 ESP VW507

Hi all,

I need to top up the oil my 1.9 TDI 130, 52 plate, which is on a long life service.

I've seen some Mobil 1 ESP that specifies VW507 spec, can this be used in my car that currently has VW506.01 spec oil in it.

The VW507 oil is designed for cars with particulate filters in which I don't think mine has, although I would assume its a better quality oil than VW506.01 and so can be used.

Any thoughts

Well it probably wouldn't do any harm but I would get VW506.01 as this will be the same spec just look for the spec not the name on the bottle.
506.01 is 0w 30 and i think 507 is different.

It does state on the back that it is compatible with 506.01 as well, i'm just being too cautious I guess.
