I've just noticed the engine undertray is hanging loose at the rear. Its pitch black out there an the drive is covered in ice and snow!

    Q. Does anybody know how its suppose to be attached? I'll probably have a go in the morning if its just a few bolts.

Hey Ronk,as you suggested they are usually a kind of semi twist grub screw approximately 20mm long. If you can't find the screws still fitted then a small nut/bolt/washer will be adequate

    Thanks,
I'll have to have a crawl under in the morning, ramps, trolley jack and overalls at the ready - I'm getting too old for this!

I doubt if the original fixings will be there, so it will be a search for something suitable.

self tappers with washers on them should suffice, but if you do your own servicing
then make sure you will be able to get them out to drain the oil, unless you use a sucker
    through the dip stick,

The last service was done by the main dealer - perhaps the fixings weren't tightened properly at that time eh?

they will have used a sucker i expect( quicker ),and they wouldn't
have let it come out with a loose tray without informing you.
it's probably the heavy snow we've all had that has done the damage,
although best not to assume until it's looked at

I'll let you know the result / cause once it's fixed.
I'll get Brittania Rescue to do a temp repair, then its off to the dealer for a set of fixings. I dont fancy the idea of it dropping off en route, as by all accounts, they are not cheap to replace!

The fella came out this morining and removed the rear undertray.

It was secured with 3off qtr turn screws at the joint of the front tray and two of the same at the rear of the tray.

My tray had both corners broken. There was a lot of snow and ice in it - I think thats what bust it when I reversed over a pile of the stuff.

I'll not do that again - £50 for a new tray for the privilege!
