They used my car for the original measurments but I was only passing through Leeds. They are in reality a very small firm operating out of a small industrial premises so I guess the small number of people who will buy this product are not a massive business attraction.

Plus they aren't just offering Golf plates, so they'd be hiring cars every week.

Given the price they charge i'd be more than happy to wait a few more weeks.

Trouble is the offer of a free set is only saving one or two peoples wallets £27, so no-one is going to drive 50 miles for a set.

Admittedly I might be interested providing I could be assurred that theyr remain stuck in place. I suppose VWs own brands are self-adhesive as well?

They told me the adhesive is rock solid, so much so that they recommend a particular technique to put them on as onece on they dont move. I saw their other products when there and they look good.

However, as I might have mentioned here or elsewhere I am wondering what the real use of these are, apart from just appearance enhancemen?
I would imagine that S.Steel would become easily scratched if you are already scratching your painted sills that easily. You would be then left with unsightly metal sills that could not be removed!

Come on guys Someone must live north of the Thames and want a free set of protectors!

Lockwood response as of 10.32 this morning was " we are desperately trying to find someone in the Leeds area to come and trial fit them on, we are just about ready apart from the final fit. There is a free set of sills for whoever can fill this need. If you have any contacts in Leeds with a Mk 6 Golf please get them to call us on 0113 2440070 to arrange a time."
    Many thanks

I would jump at the chance but 550 miles is just a tad too much
