I'll be voting, though in Scotland I think we are just voting for MEP’s and not local candidates.

I’m usually of the opinion of “why vote, it only encourages them”, but in the present climate I feel a no vote is a vote for labour

I’ve been trying to find out who the candidates are in my area; does anyone know where I can find out?

I'll certainly be voting, can't understand why people deliberately wouldn't.

i will most certainly be voting for a party that will pull us out of the eu, so looks like ukip or no2eu. the latest thing from brussels is regarding water supplies. i am fortunate to be on the mains, but many people have a bore hole around here. this will be forceably inspected, at a cost, and if considered substandard, you have to put it right, or get banged up for two years. absolutely ridiculous, and i am fed up with all this european red tape causing us all misery and expense.

Actually I think I prefer the Lib Dem approach which seems to essentially be that Europe is taking the ****, but that we do need them for some things, like trade, helping international crime etc. Nick Clegg basically seems to want to see them stop mucking around making our laws for us and start helping make Europe as a whole a better place to live.

the only way we will stop brussels from telling us what to do is to pull out of the eu. nick clegg has not got the balls to stand up to them. the nicely nicely approach will lead to nothing, other than more beurocracy(easy to say, hard to spell). the eu costs us £40 million a day to be a member of. thats too much money wasted and for what????. i say pull the plug on europe, spend that money on this country to get us out of this labour enriched mess were in, and if europe doesnt like it, tough. this country was once the world leader in everything that has now been reduced to nothing. all our power comes from europe, our cars, etc.. enough is enough, its time for a change,IMHO...

For trade we had the Commonwealth and I thought Interpol was for helping with international crime.

All very good points, and maybe the only way to force reform is to pull out first. I don't think we should not be in Europe, but I do think that Brussells has lost sight of what it's there for if you know what I mean?

True, but the idea of a European Union is to increase trade power further. That's obviously a gross simplification, but to me it all boils down to trade.

The policing issue is separate, and you're right to point out Interpol, but the EU has actually increased the power of Interpol, which to my mind is a good thing.

As much as I don't think any of them are worth my time, I'll still drag myself to voting.
