The rear wiper on my golf operates but no water comes out from the jet. I can hear the pump working and water moving but nothing appears on the screen. Also, I cannot see any water leak either inside or outside the car.

    Any idea how to fix?

    Thanks

if no water is coming out and your sure it does not have a leak i would think the jet is blocked up.
get a pin and someone to help you.
get them to hold the washer on , put the pin in the jet and give it a clean out, should move any built up dirt that way.

i had the same problem your nib on the rear washer is most probabley blocked if you cant see a leak, they are about £5 from vw expensive but thats what they are, tke the black cover off so you can see it and it lifts out with a pair or plyers, if this doesnt work have a look in the ubber gromit where the wires go though to the tail gate theres a push fit connection in here that links 2 pipes that can some times fail, if they appear ok check the back of the wiper motor take the screws out the tailgate trim and take the pipe off the back off the wiper motor and see if waters coming out there, if there is and you have fitted a new nib there is a brass pipe that goes though the motor that some times can corrode, hope this helps tom

if the water level in the washer bottle is going down then the pipe has come off the motor or come off just under the roof lining on the passenger side both common faults they both give you a boot full of water and the first usally gives alarm faults

Thats normal if you unlock the door and do not turn on the ignition. There is a service switch at the bottom of drivers side door pillar to stop doors locking and alarm activating if you are working or valeting the interior.

It seems that, in fact, I do have water in my boot!!!! After a very quick investigation (it was getting dark) the water appears to be coming from behind the rear roof pillar ('C' pillar?) on the passenger side of the car. Is this concurrent with the pipe coming apart in the roof lining?

If so, how do I go about fixing it? Start by taking the inside trim off the pillar and follow my nose? How do i get the trim off - remove the parcel shelf support on the same side?

    Thanks

the trim on the boot has 2 screws in the handle holes and the rest are on clips so just go carefull evan though they are tough! pull back the rubber gromit where the wires go from the car to the tailgate see if the connecters are still joining one another and i think the top pillar trims should just clip off, the black ones around the seat belt to but they have a screw ar the bottom of them. regards tom
