Left my pride and joy nicely parked today and came back to find that a parked builders van had rolled two spaces down the hill and come to rest against mine. The B8 A4 handbrake is superb as it held mine and the fully loaded van without moving an inch!!

No obvious or visible damage but I can't believe that it has not moved, twisted or stressed something given the weight of the van and its end position. I intend to get Audi to check it over for me via the insurance company.
The builder on his return didn't seem particularly bothered until the police arrived.( I had called them so that they could help stop its travel when I tried to extract and move mine).
Could have been worse but so annoying that some people don't know to leave handbrake on and in gear on hills.

I think the van may have a CRUSH on your car

At least the damage looks small, an Audi TT near me had the handbrake fail and the side of my neighbours house had to be rebuilt....The TT needed a new bumper

TT's have a habit of moving after the handbrakes applied.

It seems it's particularly common after hard driving. It seems the disks contract and the brakes become loose and hence the car rolls.

I had this once at the 'ring. I only rocked a bit as I leave it in gear but it's scary when someone says "your car just moved"!!

Us drivers that were brought up on 70's cars and older leave cars in gear out of habit as the handbrake was never to be relied upon

Do feel that handbraked disks seem to let go easier than drum rear bakes imo
