Is it possible to get my Dvd-Sat Nav to play dvd's ? And also exactly what is involved in getting the tv to play through the MMI? Is it more than a cable needed?

I have had the 2.0 TSFI B7 55reg now for 2 months and need some new toys!!

It already has the following extras:

    - Phantom Black Pearl
    - Adaptive Xenon
    - Alcantara Seats
    - Dvd Sat + Phone Prep in facia
    - Heaetd Front Seats
    - Auto Boot Lid
    - CD Auto Changer
    - Rear parking Sensors
    - Bose
    - M/F Sports s (whatever this is??)
    - Comfort Pack
    - 9 Spoke Alloys
    - Styling Pack (No idea what this is either!)
    - S Line Pack

The car will be re-mapped this week to 250bhp and 335 Nm and i may opt for the Cruise Control in the new year as that is when my motorway driving really kicks in and it was priceless in my old A3.

What other genuine Audi extras can i add?

    Thanks in advance.
    David.

For DVD playback you'll need a player, can't use the nav slot.
For TV you'll need a tuner.
What about chilled glovebox or rear blinds ?

You'll need the tuner module, all the antenna's and a wiring harness to get the TV working. For info you dont have MMI, You have the RNS-E sat nav unit.

Auto dimming mirrors (x3) are a treat in the winter time, especially on the motorway.

Love the idea of a chilled glovebox! I had this in an old Omega. Will the disc changer be okay in the glove box still?

Thanks for the info! It has the auto dimming rear view but not sure about the wing mirrors. What do you know about the tyre pressure sensors??

I really miss the auto dimming rear view mirror I had in my Golf, does anybody know how difficult / expensive it is to retro-fit to the A4?

    Hi Issac,
What is the difference between the RNS-E sat nav unit and the MMI. When i turn mine on it says "Multi Media interface" It uses a dvd sat nav disc.

    Cheers
    David.

    Audi has confused another customer!

MMI as fitted to the A6 and A8 is not the same as the RNS-E which is fitted to the A4. True MMI allows you to adjust all manner of things in the car, such as A/C as well as the radio and nav. It is a more integrated system, split over multiple control units (controls are near the gear lever, screen is on the dash) whereas the RNS-E is an all-in-one unit.
