Ridiculous aren't they. I replied to a stupid Bebo message a couple of weeks ago and looking at my bill now, that 5 minutes cost me a ridiculous £20. Thieves.

Anyone know where I can get FREE evening and weekend calls to any MOBILE network in the UK? I have a not too shabby 600 minutes "free" per month, but the amount I talk to my girlfriend it just seems to disappear in seconds.

That's the problem with girlfriends mate... cost you a fortune to maintain... Had that problem in the past myself and the only workable solution I could come up with was using Skype because no network provider gives you 5000 minutes a month...

    which network are you with?

i think som offer friends and family numbers where you pay £5 per month (or similar) for unlimited calls to nominated numbers (but i think it depends on them being on the same network)

True say, and when you try and explain this suddenly they don't understand the concept of money?
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

As my grandad always used to say: "Girlfriends and marriage; its an expensive way to get your laundry done for free...!"

Are you both on the same network ?

Reason I ask is that ost major networks do free call between favorite numbers on the same network.

e.g. orange do Magic numbers, where you can call for free all the time, as long as its a land line or Orange mobile.

    Haha! Very true!

I'm on O2, she's on Voda. I used to be Voda but they screwed up my contract, and I didn't check it. We both argued back and forth for ages but some life-saver of an angel gave me a 90% reduction in my charges. I gladly paid and ran back to O2 with my tail between my legs. Voda won't give me a contract now, but I don't blame them all that much.

We have free calls together at the weekends but I still like to chat to her at nights. I phoned her last night actually to say "Good Night!" and 3 hours later I fell asleep on the phone to her. Lol.

I might have a bash at Skype, never used it. Does it let you call mobile networks? And more importantly, for FREE?

No, unfortunately not. I had free calls to any O2 mobile, but she's Voda so I changed my tariff for free weekend calls to any Mobile Network instead!

Skype is free as far as I'm aware. My wife uses it to call her sister over in Canada, and it costs us nothing ! I'm not sure if there is a limit to how much you use Skype, I've never really looked into it that much.
