replaced turbo in 130 sport passat 6 months ago. got a reconditioned one from mcm turbos and transmissions ballymoney northern ireland cost £430 +£50 surcharge to get my turbo back and cost £120 to install by a vw/audi specialist. also check your thrust pressure sensor as if it is knackered puts brain into limp home mode! not nice trust me

I have been looking on ebay, and you can get a re-conditioned turbo for £323. They come with 12 months warrantly etc. The only thing is that you need to return your old turbo (they pay the tranport charges), or the warranty will be void.

Also, on another note, when a turbo goes, what the probability that you need to change the intercooler also? My turbo is broken

don't bother replacing intercooler nothing to do with turbo blowing. unless its already burst as i know passats have a tendancy of doing . nothing but black smoke no power and a hiss like an old steam engine.
