Help! I'm on a ferry and I keep getting alarm alerts coming through on my phone. The man said to disable the alarm, or the motion sensor but I don't know how. The deck is on lock down now so doubt I'll be able to do it now anyway but maybe for the return trip... anyone know how?

I know it sounds silly for the first time, but... are you sure you have a factory installed Audi alarm, and not an additional one, which was installed by the dealer?

I've done loads of googling, not found much apart from a statement from someone saying that the newer Q7's "learn" if they are on a ferry and automatically disable the alarm. My mobile alerted me to two activations before I lost mobile signal on the ferry, so no idea how many times it actually went off l. Unfortunately I've lost the reference I found, pretty sure it was on a forum somewhere.

Looks like they did change it. Mine is a May 16 build and I have the button on the drivers door:

Probably you can try the following: Disable the Safelock.

To do this, you have to press the "lock" button on the remote two times in less then 2 seconds. In this case, the Safelock will be deactivated, and by this, hopefully the towaway monitoring and the motion sensors will be disabled until the next open/close session.

EDIT: This thinking is something I don't like in the Audi line. In my A6/C6 there were two buttons on my door, one to disable the towing alarm, and one to disable the entire alarm system. I was disappointed in my C7, when these options were reduced to disable the entire alarm, and I'm very sorry to hear, that even that tiny button is so cost effective, that it should be removed. However, even it was the reason, even not, I don't understand why there is no menu item in the MMI to confugure the alarm...
