    Hello forum users,

For a rather embarrassing reason, I had to sleep in my car over the weekend. But I had a bit of a problem with "disabling" the motion sensor alarm.

I have the user's manual so I found the button on B pillar to disable the motion alarm. The manual said to press the button once and lock. Then the red light next to the driver's door lock nob will flash for 3 sec and then intermittently.

I did that. clicked the button once. Locked it (while I was inside). The red light flashed repeatedly for 30sec or so and then intermittently. Fine. After a while "BEEP BEEP BEEP"...

So I tired the same. This time I opened my driver's door, clicked the button once, got in the car, closed the door then locked it using the remote key. "BEEP BEEP BEEP"... okay. Tried again but this time pressed and held the button until something might happen (button iluminating, or the red light flashing or some sort of acknowledgement of pressing the button correctly). No luck. There was no occasion of the red light flashing for 3sec as described in the manual. The button itself seems to have some sort of illuminative window on the top left corner (to acknowledge the alarm "deactivation"?), but I couldn't get it to illuminate even once.

I gave up in the end and left the doors unlocked.

Is my disabling button faulty or am I not doing something right to disable the motion sensor alarm?

Any guidance is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Paha, thank you for your wise words... I lived and I will learn. haha.

As you know, I will look into VCDS and buy one myself or ask a fellow forum user near me for his tool and knowledge on how to use it.

    I think I cracked it.

I tried it today and somehow I noticed that when the driver's door was open the button illuminated. Then when I clicked it while the door was still open, the red light flashed on the button. Closed the door, locked the car using the button on the central locking key and the red flash went for 3sec as described on the manual.

Tried the above from the inside and I stayed in after I locked the car. Danced around in the car like a mad dog (I don't live on a quite cul-de-sac... I got some funny faces). No alarm going off.

Very strange but it worked today. I must have done something different when I was desperate to get some sleep the other day (night)...
