Delivery date - Has anyone had the date changed?

its going for exactly £31900 and was registered in JUN 09. Although nobody can have it till 01/09/09...

A few months back, a dealership in Hull I think had a new Sepang Blue S3 SB S tronic fully loaded (but no RNS-E) for only £28k. Needless to say it was sold a few days later. Optional extras don't really add value come resell time do they?

Blimey! That's a cracking price. I wonder what options it did have as its a lot cheaper than what I am going to pay even after the vehicle being discounted....

My dealer emailed me last week and mine is due for build on the same date august 31st!!

Was yours due for delivery 1st Sept?

That's an extremely impressive spec! No RNS-E? I'm having a dilemma whether to get an 2.0 S-Line with everything on it or a standard S3 with no options? Which will hold its value better?

Thanks Chief, I'm possibly living way out of my means and being highly frivolous and some of 'keeping up with the jones' syndrome has kicked in. Given that most of my freinds drive 'alpha male' fast cars... M3s, S5s, M5s I thought I would try emulate some of their egos! Oh, simply call me frivolous. My missus gives me a lot of encouragement and is supporting my purchase 100% saying that I deserve it based on how hard I work.

Thanks vw... rns-e has been intentionally avoided from the list considering the extortinate price Audi are charging for the option when it can be retrofitted at almost a 1/4 of the price. I'll be updating a separate post on this subject that cheif and I are pursuing.

Which one you go for is a topic up for discussions and personally (and I have expressed this in a separate thread) I would've been thoroughly satified with a fully loaded S-Line if only the 170PS TDi SB was available as a Quattro S-Tronic but sadly it isn't hence an S3 SB S-Tronic. Despite that, I would still go for a fully loaded s-line (is it still a highly desirable car) over an bog standard S3.... Yep, I know... opinions are like @rsoles.. everyones got one... (pardon the french). In my situation the diesel would've held a better value i think in the long run.

See what deals you can get i.e whats available in the showroom\dealership Vs what you could get ordered. To give you an example, a freind of friend mine at work managed to buy a NEW VW R32 for £19999 because a dealership managed to screw up his\her order on a factory order Passat! I would've beaten the dealers hand off for that sort of price and occasionally still drool over the story!
