Nice discount there. How did you find AutoeBid in terms of buyer experience? Did you actually get the price they offered? They do display the cheapest prices out of all the online brokers out there, but I think this price is not guaranteed? It depends if the dealership will actually match the price, am I correct in thinking this? Did you haggle further with the dealership?

I'm thinking on giving AutoeBid a try (looking at A3 2.0 S-line) but not convinced by their website! Maybe I should speak to someone there...

Going direct to the dealer is always cheaper than using a Broker !!

    Hi,

    Autobid. OK here's my experience.

You can have a bidding window between 2 and 10 days. Their recommendation (when i spoke to them on the phone) is for 5 days although I went for the full 10 days. Autobid will take a retainer fee (mine was ~ £360) before bidding commences. Autobid have a minimum discount price which if the bidding does not reach I will not get charged. In my case, it didn't however autobid were quick to contact me afterward to inform me of it not being reached at which point I was free to walk away and I could've got my money (retainer) back. Although bidders didn't reach the lowest discount advertised by Autobid, Autobid's discounts are governed by past experiences\discounts, so for a previously auctioned S3 Sportback S-tronic they were able to provide an indicative price for any future discounts. Hope that makes sense so far. I had a 24 hour window to either accept the lowest bid which was some £800 off the minimum quoted discount and pay the retainer\booking fee or walk away. I decided to go-ahead with the lowest available bidder which infact is a reputable Audi Dealership. During my travels, many of the Audi Dealers down south know nothing about autobid so it is obviously dependant on the Audi franchise to participate in autobid, since I was showing the dealerships down south my autobid evidence but they were either unable to match the price or didn't hear of them and would shrug them off with some derogatory statement . Generally my experience is good, no complaints and it has worked to a similar selling model to drivethedeal from which we purchased a car last year. you pay the internet broker your fee and then your in touch with the main dealer. My only concern before using autoebid was not knowing if i was going to be in touch with a main dealer or some back street car dealer whom was selling a new audi... (i know this is probably impossible for someone to do but imagination runs wild sometimes!!). All in all, I thought I would give autoebid a try irrespective of whether I was going to go ahead with the final deal with them or not.. the only thing I would've lost out on was forfeiting a 360 broker fee.

I'm glad I did use autobid as bidders are able to add comments at the time of bidding (although you cannot tell who the bidders are - it only shows a 'dealer id').

I am about to send back the forms to the main dealer tomorrow and I'm happy to speak to them about if they are prepared to do a similar deal for anyone else soon to make an imminent purchase, i.e without having to via autoebid for anyone.. Failing that, I have been in touch with two other dealers whom definately were prepared to shake hands on a 10% discount, if not slightly more, offer but please PM me if you would like to know whom as I prefer to act responsibily\profressionally rather than making them 'public domain'. Hope ya'll understand.

Hope that helps and answers any questions but feel free to ask anymore.

    Good luck in the meantime.

    KKP

you're correct, price is not guaranteed. And know I didn't haggle any further since I was reguarly told I would struggle to get a further ounce of discount out of a dealer... Anyhow, I thought 11.5% was quite healthy if you don't mind me saying.

Yes, do give them a call, they are quite helpful and friendly on the phone.

I got just over 9% discount off the list price...some might say thats not bad others might differ. The situation im in i that i contacted many dealers all of which eithe said ill call you back or erm its list price or didnt call back at all...thats just my experience. Anyway i stumbled across new car discount asked for a quote got the email and guess what they never called. So i decided i would call them and guess what they never answered 3 seperate times and i immediately gave them a wide berth for that reason.

Just as i gave up i came across orangewheels who only deal with audi, vw, volvo and jaguar. Found my car found the discounted prices and after i emailed a qute got a call within the hour. Very helpful they explained they would put me in touch with the dealer closest to me that they use...York Audi. I was told that the dealers arent interested in average joe wanting a car as they cant keep up supply for a3's therefore can pick and choose if they offer discounts. This mirrored my experience exactly. Anyway the deal with orangewheels is that they use the business/fleet sales managers to deal with their orders hence the nice discount that is guaranteed.

Could still trade my old 07 reg in early used audi finance and had better service all over the phone no hassle at all. After 2 days of no pressure just help from the dealer i decided to swap my pcp early. Collect 1st sept.

In my experience going to the dealer is a waste of your time you dont even get so much as a coffee as they cant be *****. All i can say is to the dealers who lost out on my order HA HA!
