    It would make sense if this only works with the 2007MY onwards 'silver button' head-units, as that was when an AUX socket became an optional extra on the price list.

    In the UK this was a £25 factory option

    When using this connector the display will show "AUX IN":



    ... but with the connects2 the display will just see it as a cd changer:


    This is all in theory though, I've only ever used the official iPod adaptor, not the above two setups.
