I was in my dealership the other day playing a round with the mmi of the new a5 and s5 models and I found them to be a lot snappier especially when zooming round the map.
Then i noticed that the checkered flag icon on the map when a destination had been programmed was actually animated. My Q7 flag is not animated which leads me to think that the mmi hardware is already out dated. Perhaps new GPUs are making there way into the a5/s5's. bit of a joke considering the price difference.

I think that's pretty standard and certainly saw that when my wife's X1 had a better iDrive than my 9 month old X5 a few years ago.

Good to see that Audi are focussing their development effort on animating the chequered flag over fixing all the existing bugs though! Great job Audi

If anyone is in a dealership soon, ask the sales guy to demonstrate how you can check whether the next train leaving your local station is on time

A lot of times its optimization with the same hardware. Look at game consoles for example. Compare some of the first generation games to ones where the hardware has been out for a few years. At my work i see it all the time, but from a perspective of power consumption.

Our MMI is very snappy and has animated checkered flag in the Nav. Ours is a August 2016 build date.

Interesting, could be nothing more than a software version/update

Jono, do you have ODBEleven/VCDS to grab your 5F module?

    Cheers

    Hey Jono

I dont use ODBEleven personally but I know a few guys here have it and do. Its been mentioned before how to do an export of the modules and I recall someone saying you setup your email address in the app on your smartphone and then there is an export option and it basically exports all the coding for your car and emails it to you. Stick the contents of the email on here or PM me.

I dont know the exact steps but I know they are on this forum somewhere. Apologies but good luck... and much appreciated!

Thanks to Steve for posting them. Very useful. Need to make them a sticky!

    Cheers
