Hey all, I've just bought a 62 plate a7 with the MMI 3G low and the maps are from 2012 it says on the SD Card. I'm considering upgrading the maps to 2016, i know about the price but I'm wondering if there is much difference in the firmware and maps to warrant the upgrade? Or am I wasting my time and my money?

    Cheers

I would say save your money and buy a decent satnav from Halfords.
I upgraded to the recent maps and am not that thrilled. It is not that it is bad it is just not as good as a five year old £100 Garmin or
    my Android phone and Googlemaps.
The googlemap option on the satnav is just an overlay.
The big disadvantage is people will wonder why you are not using the built in system but why worry?
You can use the old system and if you find a new road layout just switch on your phone.

Ive got mapping from when i first got the car which was Oct14 and most roads are fairly accurate. I use it inconjuntion with google maps so don't know if that has an impact but Id much prefer that screen rather than a garmin stuck on the windscreen.
