Touran Aix Heater

Apologies in advance as I know it's a well discussed subject but was wondering if anyone has experienced the smoking aux heater problem on a touran and what the resolution ended up being.

I know for many the resolution is to disconnect the damn thing, but to me if its there it should work and it also sounds a useful feature for those cold mornings.

I'm not sure but I think a glowplug change would help.

Yeah I read that works sometimes but not always. I was wondering how much of a job that is, I believe you need to drop the front bumper.

Some suggest looking on a ford galaxy forum for good repair write ups.

was told when I had mine by wv its about £1000 and bumper off job

yikes....just for the glow plug, or was that to replace the whole unit

Mine only smoked the first few uses of the winter, stick with it.
If it continues there is an upgraded firmware for older models

was thinking with it being a 2009 it should have any appropriate firmware changes, maybe not mind you.

have arranged a vagcom session so hopefully that might give me a better idea.
