    • Presentation of the new SUV at the Volkswagen Group Night and the International Motor Show (IAA)
    • New design and new technology for the Tiguan

The International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt will be the stage for the presentation of the new Tiguan. After selling over 2.64 million units of the first generation, Volkswagen is revealing the latest generation of the SUV at today's Group Night and at the IAA which begins tomorrow.

Volkswagen is showing four versions* of the new Tiguan at the IAA (open to the public: 17 to 27 September). The production versions being presented are the exceptionally sporty Tiguan R-Line, the classic on-road model and an off-road version tuned specifically for off-road use. Meanwhile, the Tiguan GTE – a concept vehicle with a plug-in hybrid drive (160 kW / 218 PS ofsystem power) – offers an outlook on the future development of the best-selling SUV.

The second generation of the best-seller is the first Volkswagen Group SUV to be based on the path-breaking MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform. It improves all of the properties of the Tiguan. The body proportions of the latest Volkswagen SUV are perceptibly sporty, and the design shows charisma from all perspectives. Its weight was also reduced by over 50 kg compared to the previous model. Meanwhile, the amount of space offered in the interior and luggage compartment has taken a gigantic leap forward. The boot volume of the new Tiguan can take on up to 615 litres of cargo (loaded to the back of the rear bench); when the

    • 265 PS anniversary model accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds
    • A boost function increases power output to over 290 PS for a short time
    • Expressive exterior with new front bumper, side skills, rear diffusor and multi-part roof spoiler

At the beginning of next year, the icon of the sporty compact class – the Golf GTI – is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Volkswagen will mark this historic event with a progressive special edition: the new Golf GTI Clubsport. Now Volkswagen is presenting the production version of the new Golf GTI Clubsport at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt and offers a first look ahead at the driving performance of the most powerful production GTI ever.

The inventor of the “GTI” is thus continuing the tradition of GTI anniversary models, as exclusive special editions also marked the 20th, 25th, 30th and 35th birthdays. The turbocharged direct-injection engine in the anniversary model delivers an output of 195 kW / 265 PS , 35 PS more than on the previous
mostpowerful Golf GTI. That, however, is far from all. For a short time – approximately 10 seconds each time – the driver can increase engine power by an additional 10 per cent to over 290 PS using a boost function. This added power is activated simply by kicking down the accelerator.

The Golf GTI Clubsport sprints to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds with a 6-speed manual gearbox; the optional 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) is even faster at 5.9 seconds. The Golf GTI Clubsport has a top speed of 250 km/h (DSG: 249 km/h). A look at fuel economy shows just how efficiently

    • 100 km/h in only 6.7 seconds, yet average fuel consumption of just 6.0 litres
    • New premium interior – distinctive, powerful design
    • Optimum connectivity with Full Link

The new Ibiza CUPRA shows the essence of the SEAT brand in its purest form – emotional design, outstanding performance and state-of-the-art technology unite to form one of the most dynamic cars in its class. With its compact dimensions and excellent functionality, the Ibiza CUPRA is the perfect hot hatch for everyday use. The performance generated by the 1.8-litre TSI engine is impressive – acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, a top speed of 235 km/h – paired with exceptional efficiency. The new interior creates an extraordinary feeling of quality, while SEAT Full Link, the SEAT DriveApp and the SEAT ConnectApp enable optimum connectivity. In one area, however, there was very little room for improvement – the Ibiza’s emotional and dynamic design is incredibly well received by customers and is cited as the main reason for purchasing the Spanish model.

“The Ibiza CUPRA is an icon of the SEAT brand. Its striking design and refined performance promise driving pleasure mile after mile,” says Jürgen Stackmann, President of SEAT, S.A. “With its innovative connectivity, upgraded interior and further improved quality, the new Ibiza CUPRA clearly shows the speed at which our brand continues to develop.”

A success story starts a new chapter. The first generation of the Ibiza CUPRA hit the road in 1996, with highly dynamic CUPRA models have developing to become a core element of the SEAT brand ever since. The next chapter of this story is being written by the new Ibiza
