  • A new chapter begins: Innovative Škoda citigo on sale today

One of the most important new models in the history of ŠKODA is now officially on sale.

The all-new Citigo marks the start of a new era in the company’s 117-year history. As the sixth model in the multi award-winning line-up, and ŠKODA’s first ever city car, it expands the brand’s value-for-money appeal to a new type of customer.

With a classically simple yet charismatic design and outstanding around-town manoeuvrability, the Citigo sets new standards – comfort, convenience, environmental considerations and technical sophistication.

The brand’s debut in the fast-expanding city car segment, it’s also the first new model to wear ŠKODA’s revised ‘winged arrow’ corporate badge. It’s a fact that perfectly illustrates the Citigo’s huge significance for the company.

The newcomer is aimed at younger drivers, families who need a second car and older motorists with an active lifestyle. Citigo has a spacious and bright cabin which can easily accommodate four adults, no matter how long the journey. It also has the largest boot in its class and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine comes with a power output of either 60 or 75PS, plus the option of GreenTech fuel-saving technologies including stop/start and brake energy recuperation. A newly developed five-speed manual transmission is standard, though an automatic gearbox is available on selected models. It means the Citigo has official combined fuel economy as high as 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 96g/km.

ŠKODA’s recognised high specification trim levels – S, SE and Elegance – are on offer, and can be personalised with a range of desirable factory and dealer-fit options. One highlight is the Personal Infotainment Device (PID), a dashboard-mounted touch-screen technology providing Bluetooth, sat-nav, and trip data.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK, said the Citigo’s arrival was a hugely exciting opportunity for ŠKODA retailers. He commented: “To be expanding our product line-up right now, when the city car segment is going into overdrive, is fantastic. Customers are demanding smaller cars and we believe we have one of the best on the market. The Citigo is innovative, full of character, practical and very fuel-efficient. People are going to fall in love with it, as they have with our other models.”

Prices for the 14-car Citigo line-up begin at just Ł7,630 for the entry level three-door model, with five-door cars only another Ł350.

The Citigo can be bought through ŠKODAFinance’s flexible ‘Solutions’Personal Contract Plan (PCP). A number of attractive packages have been created to suit every pocket, and include three years’ servicing for free. It means customers could drive away a brand new ŠKODA Citigo from as little as Ł75 per month.

The launch of the ŠKODA Citigo will be backed by a new multi-million pound national marketing campaign. The brainchild of leading advertising agency, Leagas Delaney, the campaign will include TV, national newspaper and magazine advertising, plus significant digital, outdoor and social media activity.

Thanks, I have seen a lot of people say this also. However I'm 80% sure that it used to reach and stay at 90, though I'm starting to question myself!

Yeah I had a couple of offers/suggestions to bypass the EGR, but I wouldn't bother. It's a grey area at the moment regarding whether it could be checked

Thanks very much for the reply. That’s a shame. The garage who have scanned the car so far want to bypass the egr but I’m not happy with that idea.
