Audi A3 2.0TDI CRLB 150bhp s-tronic

Hi all just purchased a 64 plate Audi with 33k miles it's had a timing belt kit and water pump with aux belt fitted. Are these reliable engines / transmissions? Regarded as decent? any precaution maintenance I should look at for? Any thing I have sort of picked up on is a noise when facing the engine left hand side near timing belt area they is a chirping noise shall we say? But every car I looked at even the golf 184bhp cuna engine sounded the same...

The engine itself is good if given 9300 mile oil chnages, the problems are the exhaust aftertreatment and the injectors.

Good to know I'll drop a cleaner in the tank forte every now and then. I'll look at getting the s-tronic serviced soon

Noted thanks. Why do the engines on these newer vw/Audi sound god awful ? I know it's normal what I hear on mine but they sound far from smooth?

The EA289 pre May 2015 build engines sound like a skeleton ******* in a biscuit tin because of the camshaft module, later ones with the revised unit are much quieter.

I have been to see alot of golf gtds before I settled on the Audi they was sort of 66 plates with 60-80k miles on 180bhp and they sounded just like the 150bhp Audi A3 64 plate some sounded worse than others but overall I would say they all sound like a bad pulley. I'm in two minds really to send the Audi A3 back they sound terrible these 2.0tdis

So had the car nearly 2 months spent quite a bit on her full service also had the s-tronic serviced with oe oil and filter took that to a specialist had 4 new tyres and tracking and also front and rear discs and pads.

Noticed a couple of things really from the gearbox when changing gear from 2 to 3rd might even do it in other gears I'll pay more attention to it tomorrow I hear like a clicking engagement noise?? Was there before service also I notice a whine mainly in 1st gear even more so when changed to manual from 1st to 2nd this normal?
