Injector seal leakage

Thanks
Will it be OK for a couple of days of school runs, only 5 minutes each way? Worried it may cause other damage

It should not get hot enough to ignite.

It is somewhat confusing why Audi decided to make the port that shows injector seals leaking discharge over the exhaust manifolds.

I'd never heard of this issue but after research its incredibly come. Why on earth are there so many cases of vag injector seals failed?

It is rare for VAG to admit to a fault even inside the network but this one is covered under TPI 2042043/1 from June 2016

Is this still covered under some sort of warranty from audi then? I think our 2015 Q7 with CRCA engine is just starting to blow on a cylinder. I can just hear a ‘chuffing noise/hissing noise’ coming from the RH side of the engine.

IF you bought it from an Audi dealer and IF the service history is impeccable and was by an Audi dealer, 5 years old, mmmm doubt it but the worse they can say is no. The 2015 CRCA is covered under TPI 2042043/1. Print it out and shown them, if they deny it they are lying.

I sorted it myself. I ordered 6 copper combustion seals, the rubber O rings, and bolts from TPS. I did it Tuesday. Cylinder 3 was the culprit. The washer was in 2 pieces and had approximately 1/4 missing. Never seen that before in 14 years of being a mechanic.

I have been a grease monkey for 40 years and still see new horrors all the time, every day is a school day.

Every day is certainly a school day, I have just developed another fault within the last few days, which I genuinely cannot believe. 2 faults in as many weeks. I now have a slipping gearbox. Has the OC8 gearbox, takes an eternity to change up gears when driving reasonably quick/full throttle (like a manual with a worn out clutch if that makes sense) erratic changes at part throttle for example 2/3 will drop about 300rpm, the 3/4 with drop 1000rpm, just seems like it has a mind of its own now, it’s very irregular. Plus when giving it some stick in 2nd the other day, the revs increased and the speed did not pick up for about 1-2 seconds again like a manual with a slipping clutch. I’m hoping it’s low/deteriorated oil, but knowing my luck it will be a torque converter issue or something along those lines. Oh well. Keeps us busy doesn’t it!!

P.sorry to hijack the thread!!

0C8, which type code, NAE, MHP etc?

I’m not sure. Where can I find the code?

I got to be honest, I’m not sure what the difference is between the codes.

Ratios and software or absolutely nothing, without micro analysing it there is no way to know so I just follow the lists.

A leaking seal is a prelude to the injector bolt shearing. Close examination of mine showed polishing and fretting as it vibrated with every pulse. it snapped flush and took out the injector rail. Expensive repair, didn't trust the other seals so had the other 5 replaced.
