Hi all,

I've bought an A3 with a known haldex issue which I thought would be a fairly straight forward fix as I have another 2006 A3 quattro with no haldex issues which I'm stripping for parts. The original VCDS readout showed this on the AWD system:

Address 22: AWD Labels: None
Control Module Part Number:
Component and/or Version:
Software Coding:
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000 000 00000
Additional Info:
Additional Info:
VCID: 55A0097DFCB4B3E2DE-8000
4 Faults Found:

16347 - Control Module - EEPROM Error
014 - Defective
02248 - Valve for Controlling Clutch Operating Angle (N373)
014 - Defective
16347 - Control Module - EEPROM Error
014 - Defective
02248 - Valve for Controlling Clutch Operating Angle (N373)
014 - Defective

So I assumed the haldex controller was at fault and swapped it with the known working one (very slightly different part number but the same gen - hope that's ok?)
VCDS then came up with this on the ABS controller:

Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 1K0-907-379-MK60-A.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 1K0 907 379 AB HW: 1K0 907 379 AB
Component and/or Version: ESP 4MOTION MK60 0102
Software Coding: 0023170
Work Shop Code: WSC 06314 000 00000
VCID: 72EA52E16D1AC4DADB-8026
1 Fault Found:

01324 - Control Module for All Wheel Drive (J492)
013 - Check DTC Memory

and these AWD faults:

Address 22: AWD Labels: 1K0-907-554.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 1K0 907 554 F
Component and/or Version: Haldex 4Motion 0115
Software Coding: 0000001
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000 000 00000
VCID: 306E98E9A396B6CA6D-8064
Fault Codes have been Erased

3 Faults Found:
02249 - Sensor for Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature (G347)
014 - Defective
00003 - Control Module
014 - Defective
02248 - Valve for Controlling Clutch Operating Angle (N373)
014 - Defective

I tried swapping the oil pressure / temp sensor and the clutch angle valve off the donor car as well but this made no difference.

What am I missing??

Thanks,

Mike

Firstly I need the VIN and the part number of the controllers for both cars but the lack of coding value in the original concerns me.

the VIN for the faulty car is WAUZZZ8P36A114514 with controller part number 1K0907554C and the donor car is WAUZZZ8P27A063024 / 1K0907554F

1K0 907 554 C was dropped (ETKA does not say when) for 1K0 525 130 B which became 1K0 525 130 F and is now 1K0 525 130 L which is the current part number for both cars so basically they are the same. In this situation we would change the pump (0AV 598 549 A), filter (02D 598 574) and blow the system trough with compressed air BUT to start with we would only have fitted a compete new Haldex unit 0AV 525 554 G as we have struggled to repair them in the past and lost time and money, I have just about given up even thinking about used parts, they must have lost me more money than they have saved customers. I bought a "guaranteed" used 02M box to convert my car to 6 speed and had to take it straight back out and spend £1k in parts rebuilding it although I did not have another way of getting the box I needed.
