Carbon Clean / DPF Clean

Hi all. Ok so having had my C7 2.0 Ultra TDI. I recently had a minor service done along with the cambelt and water pump. Im considering seriously about having the Carbon and DPF cleaning done as i found someone who will do both for £99. My car has done 62k and want to know if the fact i had oil change as part of service is an issue in regards the Carbon & DPF clean?

So someone is going to take the DPF off, professionally clean it, fit it back on and test it for £99.00? Bargain!

If its not broken I'd definitely advise you not to fix it. If there is issues you are trying to address than that's a different story.

With regards to the oil change, only use the correct low saps oil, If in doubt get that changed to the correct one

Well the dpf clean is more chemical based i think rather than taking it out and cleaning it. I think i will leave the carbon clean for now as it should ideally be done before an oil change.
The only only reason i askd about the dpf clean was becuase the particulate warning came on today coming back from town but disapeared itself after 2 miles. Made me worry after only owning car for 2 weeks there was something wrong so trying to find best way to tackle problem if any. Is chemical based cleaning good any good?

Don't think there is any problem. If yours is like our 2016 GTD the dpf light is pretty interactive. Dpfs don't like stop start driving they need a good run - which seems it was only 2 miles on your car and that's not bad at all.

Hi. You do not get an indication that the DPF is regenning, with experience you notice a slight loss of power when it’s happening. The warning comes up if the DPF is around 25% full or regents do not complete due to short runs,you will know if it’s trying to do one when you stop the car as the cooling fans will keep running. I read somewhere that the clean happens around every 320 miles. The best thing to do is give it a good long run at speed, only up to 70 he he, say 20-30 miles. If the warning comes on again keep it running put it in sport and do at least 10 miles like that again at speed if you can. The other way to tell if it’s doing a regen is the idle rpm will go from 800 up to 1000 when stoping if it dose keep driving until it drops back to 800. As the old saying goes, give it a good clean out thrash every now and then, blow the cobwebs away. Good luck.
