Hello,

Recently the flywheel in my passat has started rattling and the clutch bite is very high so its time it got a new kit,

My question is, Are there any special tools needed to do the job,
I have the use of a friends lift and ive a good mechanical knowledge,

Any other advice on torque values etc would also be great

Thanks in advance

T10096 subframe alignment pins or Sealey equivalent.
A decent clutch alignment tool.
Hoist, support bar or gearbox jack preferable.

The rest is basic unbolting, renewing and bolting back on (to torque specifications as required).

Done quite a few of these now for friends and family - reasonably straight forward for someone good with the old spanners.

flywheel - 60Nm+ 90°, use new bolts
clutch pressure plate - 20Nm, if the plate is LUK - 13Nm
