View Full Version : Brakes
I was parked up next to another a6 at work today and noticed that the other a6 had large vented rear brakes. Are these standard on the quattros Or faster a6s?
Mine just got the standard solid mini discs at the back but it's just a 190ultra
They look much better with the big discs and open type alloys.

The car may have been a BiTDi. They have the huge S6 brakes as standard.

Think its the Quattro. My 272 has them. Seems that now the 3.0 also come with red callipers. if you try on the configurerator it shows them whithe the correct options.

BiTdi has 356mm front and 330mm monster jobbies on the rear! So yes pretty gosh darn big
Picking up my 272 this weekend so will check
Red calipers would be nice on a white car

I didn't get them. Ordered in July and took delivery end Sept. Agree that they would look good with white. shame for me but can live without. you'll love the car, that engine is brill.

The larger engine petrol and diesel A6 have bigger brakes than the smaller engine versions.

Yes.

Not quite. The S6 has even bigger 400mm Brembo 6piston calipers (and the same size in carbon ceramic if you tick the option). And the RS6 has even bigger at 420mm IIRC (again traditional or carbon ceramic depending on options).

No red calipers must be a 2016MY cars even though mine is meant to be the updated facelift.
Not a biggy wasn't expecting it anyway.

It may well just have been a mistake in the configurator. There's nothing written down about it (that i know of).
Ours will be 2016MY, but sometimes they make small tweaks to spec.
Did notice the front brakes on my 272 are brembo style type brakes brake calipers compared to the my 190 had the more standard smaller looking type calipers.
