OK, having had to replace my instrument cluster, all dials including the voltmeter work find. However, the oil temperature doesn't, not having the connections since my old cluster didn't have the oil temp gauge.

I was browesing ebay and notive they do have an oil temp sensor/ sender replacement that just screws into the oil cooler housing. Great I could get this working, but, I could not find the 4 pin connector that clips into the instrument panel to operate the gauge, the wire from that to whatever it is called the clips on the sensor itself.

Does anybody know what these are actually called or more hopfully where i can buy them form.

Thanks.

Sensor is 049919563b,its a one pin sensor, the connector is a female spade. The 4 pin connector is 4d0972623,the feed wire for the gauge goes to pin 1,the bottom pin.
Have a look at your dash loom, there may be a stray blue/white wire, this will be the temp sensor feed, with a corresponding blue/white wire close by the oil pressure switch wire in
the engine loom.If not,try running a wire from the 4 pin up through the ecu box, along the loom into the engine bay,and onto the new sensor. If this doesnt work, then its time to
hunt down the relevant pins on the ecu.
on ebay theres a 4 pin connector from a golf alarm system for sale, same part number as for the A4 dash,so it will fit.

Wow, excellent reply.

Thanks for that.
