Hi all.
Does anyone know an easy way of replacing the auxiliary heater or does the dash have to come out. Have had 5 fault codes come up;
01411 temp sensor- short to ground
01415 recirculating pump- open or short to plus
00664 fuel gauge- lower limit exceeded
02251 heater unit locked
01444 under-voltage shut-off (automatic)
This may be a silly question, but is it serviceable or fixable without removal.
Any help appreciated.

Get your codes read by someone with VCDS cable or a garage with Autologic, its possible to reactivate the aux heater

Hi b1ackb1rd.
Thanks for your response. The codes were read with a vcds cable, I just didn't write down everything that came up, I just wrote down the fault code themselves and the description, sorry. I do have the print out so I can write it all out when I get home if that will be any more help.
I didn't know it could be reactivated or I would have tried at the time of reading. I'm not the one that owns the cable so I won't be able to get it done just yet.
Cheers

When found in Aux Heater module of VW Touran (1T, and similar models), unlock heater module by saving a 1 in Adaptation Channel 042, then clear fault codes.

avoid fuel light to come on the dash, low fuel locks the aux heater.

Auxy heater is behind front offside bumper next to screen wash bottle, from the codes posted it looks like the circ pump needs replacing, not sure about the temp sensor short. I think pump can be replaced without removing the whole unit but access is tight. These things are a pita but helpful inthis weather. Mines knackered as well but cant face working on it in sub zero driveway.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look tomorrow and see. Might have to put up with it for a bit though, don't mind the cold too much lol.

Thanks for that link willuk.
I had that fault code come up on vcds. So pretty likely the pump is shot. Will have to do some shopping around, already spent quite a bit on the car recently, and not even luxuries.

The replacement of the pump is fairly simple to anyone that might come across this old post here is a video

I'm having to find a new garage after my regular guy retired. So went to a local 'VW Specialist', and asked how much it would be to reset the Webasto on my Touran. 'Dunno what you're talkin' about. What's a web... what??? Diagnostic is £40 mate.'
Cross that one off then.
