Over the last couple of weeks the radio reception in my C7 has been getting worse to the point where now I can't listen to DAB as it drops every couple of minutes and I can't even maintain an FM reception and TMC rarely works.
I've tried resetting MMI and re scanning but it made no difference.
Is there any antenna connections I can check myself before I book it in to the dealers?

Interesting that one!
I have the same problem (but it is persistent) to the point where I asked Audi to look into it during the service. No luck however. The irony is, when the signal goes, the entire 'radio' is frozen...
The only thing they did in the service was to disable auto retune or whatever that option is called and told me that it should not freeze at least any more (yes, now I can switch to FM when it happens) but, IMHO, not how DAB should work! Specially as I never had a similar problem with DAB in the Passat I previously had.

Ain't just confined to Audi, I have Jaguar XK8 with DAB. it is absolutely useless I'm sure the issue lies with DAB radio.

My first point of investigation would be either the connection between the window element (rear window on saloon, passenger rear side window on Avant) and the cable and the aerial amplifier. Either would give the reception problems described here

Yeah I know it's just a pain as I use the car for work so end up having to book it in weeks in advance to get a courtesy car then can only stay local as it has to be back same day

Not sure about that, I travel all over and only lose DAB signal in the borders of Scotland for a short time and the odd spot in the Peak District. Never lost signal or had any other issue with DAB anywhere else. That was in both a 2011 C7 A6 and a 2011 Jaguar XF I just sold.
I would definitely get it in under warranty and have it looked at.

It may sound daft, but do any of you happen to have the TV tuner option fitted to the car?
This dropping out of sound was/is an issue on the jaguar/land rover systems when TV tuner was fitted. Its still an issue on my range rover now. Apparently the tuner is constantly scanning and receiving in the background, but a change in one of the broadcast signals has caused these TV tuner systems to "hickup" causing a second or so of silence at random intervals. Doesn't matter whether you are listening to dab, FM or something else. Temporary fix was to set the TV tuner to think it was not in the UK.
