I have a VW Bora TDI 115bhp. It has been a good car however recently has been causing me a major headache it has started to do the following. If anybody can offer me advise it would be greatly appreciated. I have been given various possibles but nothing seems to be sorted when it comes out of the garage.
1: When i start the car up it revs up to about 3000 revs and then drops down to just above 10000 revs when just ticking over. You can hear that it is over reving. IT IS ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS WARM.
2: When i am travelling at speed on the motorway it is losing speed and restrcting my speed to no higher than 60 ish. Even when i drop it down a gear still nothing happens it does not increase the speed. Has had a brand new air flow meter fitted recently.
3: Also when i brake it makes a clanking sound.
4: When i start the car up a huge puff of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. First cold start on a morning after that it does not do it. I know that diesels smoke but this is embarressing.
I know that the carsounds like a shed and it should be scrapped but i am really struggling financially and need to keep hold of it as long as i can.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLLY APPREACITED!
