Does anybody know of a good way to run a feed direct from the battery to the boot or can a constant live feed be found on the fuse panel on the side of the dash. (golf hatch 2008). reason is to install a spit relay in the boot to charge battery in caravan on the move. finding a path through the bulk head is a bit difficult and i do not want to go under the car.

You should be able to sun a cable under the plastic trims between the carpet and the door openings, they're easy to get off

Thanks, but do you know how to get through the bulkhead to the engine compartment without drilling.

TBH there's no easy way that I know of. I tend to drill a hole put in a grommet and go that way

Have a look at the bonnet release cable on the o/side under the wiper motor, you may be able to move the grommet over a little.Or on the other side pollen filter.

Thanks to all who replied, just found a bit of good info which is the wiring diag for the TEC3 split charging relay which states that the connection for the permanent 12v supply can be at a suitable terminal on the fuse box instead of/or a direct connection to the to the battery. This will solve the problem of trying to get through the bulk head. I am thinking of unused position 44 on the "c" fuse box on the side of the dash

Any tech reason for not doing this please comment.
Just found an excellent "howto" for adding extra cicuits to the fuse box on the side of the dash
