Dashboard Display - boot showing open

Hi,
I have Audi a4 (W2000) 1.9tdi, the display shows the boot is open, when it clearly is shut.
I have just changed the whole boot lock mechanism (sensor/microswitch etc), thinking this was the problem, but to no avail.
The problem is still there and is very annoying.
The boot light is not working as well, could this the problem? (changed the bulb)

Have you had her on the VCDS?

Could be a fault with the alarm sensor.

Thanks, but what is VCDS (is that dianostics)? and how can i check if the alarm sensor is at fault?

VAG COM Diagnostics Software (http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html) - yes diagnostic software, plug the car in, run the auto scan or specifically just check the relevant section, check the outcome when its finished, you will get a log file stating what's what.

This thread (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?5319-Vagcom-VCDS-User-Locations) has a list of all the members that have VAG-COM/VCDS and where they are located, there is also this map (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=209563024277134815192.0004c505be14b22419db e&msa=0&ll=56.231139,-2.779541&spn=3.493691,10.821533&iwloc=0004c505cfcb6158e0447) that has all the locations pinned, have a poke around and see if there is anyone near you.
