    Default 1.9 TDI Code ----- CErr & noisy engine – 27-01-2008,11:44 PM
    Hi

    I have just bought a TDI 1996 model with a very noisy engine. It sounded like the timing on the pump was too advanced. i turned it back, but it looses power, and has a hard start, but is much quieter. when i put it back, it runs and starts fine but it is very rattly. Also when started, the mileage display does not show mileage, instaed it alternates between ----- and CErr.

    any hekp will be greatly appreciated. it is a 1.9 tdi 1996 golf

    I have same problem with dashboard Cerr -------
    My question is could you find the solution for that ?

    I'd get hold of a VAGCom mate and see if you have any fault codes.
