Do you create a thread with a poll? Its not like most VB forums
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

This also answers my question as i posted with a poll one day and the next i couldn't. Having now read and seen the date of the post ok, no problem.
As a fairly recent member to the forum i have observed that there are some areas of the forum used more than others.
I understand why the news and announcements section is there, but should there be a headlines section for the really important stuff so such questions can be avoided.
I only found the info by accident.

An example if i may, the bbc has a website, and has its own news section, but on the very front page it a section highlighting the most important news.

Just a thought, not a rant.

input is always appreciated ben you should know that.... but im a bit confused, could you explain how you think this could be implemented? all ideas are put to the team and discussed, but i cant quite see what you mean...

currently we have an announcments sub forum, are you saying you would like something on the homepage with important news and events?

thanks, that seemed a bit harsh.

I do feel that some things are worthy of greater public awareness than others. Also as a guide is it possible to add another coloumn title, currently there are Forum, Last Post, Thread and Post. Can a Views coloumn be added? just as a guide to how many visitors actually go out their way to look at other areas of the forum other than what they are actually interested in.
Yes the chat about anything and chat about cars, passat and golf sections will be at the high end of views, but where would the 4 threads in the Forum Information section come?

To pick 2 extremes, more people will of been able to take part in a poll regardless of its seriousness as they tend to be pretty universal, compared to those that can contribute to the skoda section.

As the name of this forum suggests, vw and audi, who would think of looking for seat or skoda here, but fairs fair, they are in the same family so are correctly included. So where is the lambo section? this is in the VAG family. How many posts does a section have to attract to make it wothwhile being there?

I didn't think i'd put this much down.
I must care about this community.

Some brief thought to a way round this, but as to its practicality.

We will use polls as the example as this is why the thread was started.

In you user options you can choose wether or not to recieve emails about whatever from whoever.

If when this forum attracts a new member they are issued with a list of standard permissions such as, you may post threads, reply to posts, quote, upload images post polls etc etc.

Should one of these permissions be withdrawn across all users, then they should be notified and this email is one that cannot be opted out of recieving. One email to all users. Its a sort of Changes to Terms and Conditions if you will.

To type the email would be as quick as typing the post its self.

It is not my intension to step on toes or annoy anyone.

I don't know what else to say. sorry

    Ben
