You either need an original Audi TV tuner of which there are analogue (useless within a very short time as analogue will be switched off) and digital (very expensive). The alternative is to buy a video-in interface from Kufatec.de and put your own TV tuner and DVD player in.

Was about to make a new thread but this is close enough. I have the RNS-E system and wondered if it can play dvds on the screen? The satnav disk is dvd so the reader is there.

Unfortunately the DVD drive does not play videos.

better still, is there a picture of the rear of the rns-e unit?

Ys the RNS-E does have a 32pin AV connector on the rear, in addition the normal Quadlock connector.

cool, so all i need is the correct piece of kit to allow mt to plug in anything i like.

The car i'm getting has rns-e and in the glove box it has 6 disc cd changer and ipod lead. i'm thinking both these will be in the quad lock connector.

I'll also need to get a set of 4 removal pins won't i?

The best media adapter is the Kufatec IMA, not cheap but does offer some control through the RNS-E of your added device.

Yes, only the TV option and 'aux-in' (if fitted) use the AV connector. 4 tools required for removal.
