Currently I have a chrome flashing chav gear knob in my car - Courtesy of the previous owner, but now I have found a standard gear knob and gaitor for £18 - not bad IMO.

Just wondering would this be easy to fit? Also, would the gear knob and gaitor come seperate so that they wouldn't be 'stitched' together?

    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks

You can, but as I've said works computer won't let me post pics, grrrr.

Basically, the ger knob is stuck on the stick ha! Can easily be pulled off, however, how would I fit the standard knob? Does it come with simple minded instructions for simple people? Also does the gaitor just pull of too?

Well, here are some pics of how the standard gear nob and gaitor attached.....

The gaitor just lifts up from the back, (big lip on the front edge) and then just slides over the gear nob in 1 piece.

Theres a fitixg on the shaft that looks like it holds the gear nob in place? You may need to put a small jubilee clip around yours to secure it. (or just leave it, and it'll probably be the same as you have now)

    Looks simple enough?

    That's greats. THanks very much!

Just one question, did you not need to take the gear knob off at all to remove the gaitor? I thought the gear knob and gaitor were attached?

You make it look oh so simple

I have a golf 2001, but I am not sure if the hole inside the knob is 12mm or 22mm.

I was wondered if anyone knows that.??
